۱- Asphaltene Inhibitor (IR95)

Application:

Asphaltene precipitation effect is more sever as compared to wax in that there is a potential of material deposit within reservoir porous medium as well as pipelines. The inhibitor is potentially suited at down-hole injection via a line mounted along the production string.

Product:

The developed brand is specified as IR95 and registered under Patent No. 70680 in Year 2011. The inhibitor has the distinguished award of the 25 Khawrazmi International Festival and the WAITRO.

Field Practice:

The product is currently being used in Azar oil field located in western Iran and has passed the pilot test on the well scale.

 

۲- Wax Inhibitor (IR83)

Application:

Paraffin precipitation has been considered as one of the serious problems in oil fields. The precipitates cause production drop in minimum possible time.  The remedy is injecting an appropriate inhibitor at a pre-evaluated dose often at the wellhead.  Laboratory tests determine the required amount of inhibitor in terms of volume to achieve target concentration when mixed with a specified crude oil.  This target concentration is to assure stabilization of constituents in produced fluid and recommended to be fine-tuned when is use in a field.

Product:

The developed brand is specified as IR83 and registered under Patent No. 70679 in Year 2011. 

Field Practice:

The product is currently being used in Azar oil field located in western Iran and has passed the pilot test on the well scale.

 

۳- Anti Scale Rings

Application:

The application resides in prevention of mineral sediment formation in pipeline, removal of scale deposits from production unit and potential application in cleaning up stock tank oil storage.

Progress:

Research has proceeded to pre-production stage. 

 

۴- Sludge Precipitation Inhibitor

Application:

Literature surveys show that the main reason of failure of more than 40% of all acidizing operations (including: acid wash, acid fracturing and etc.) is sludge precipitation. Nowadays, sludge inhibitor chemicals are considered as one of the most important additives of acids which are used in all acidizing operations.

Progress:

The chemical with specified ASA-65 brand has passed the research stage and registered with Patent No. 77955 in Year 2012 and is ready for mass production.

 

۵- Sludge Removal Chemical

Application:

As described before, sludge precipitation can lead to stop production. The formed sludge has a specific structure that can not be treated by ordinary solvents. In order to treat formed sludge and put the well on production, special chemicals must be used. This chemical also has applicability in Stock Tanks washing.

Progress:

The brand is specified as ASA-67 was synthesized and registered under the Patent No. 73117 in Year 2011 and is ready for mass production.

 

۶- Sludge Precipitation Predicting Software

Application:

Sludge precipitation predicting softwares in acidizing operation were first used by Kuwait Petroleum Company in 2006 and based on experimental data acceptable results were obtained. This software was developed in house and can be used for optimization of injected acid with minimum produced sludge.

Progress:

The software was developed for Doroud oil field in Year 2010 and its applicability was confirmed by the field data. The software introduced as Iron-Asphaltene Module can be adapted to each crude oil.

 

۷- EOR Screening Software

Application:

EOR screening softwares are used by Oil Companies as a fast/robust method for selection of optimum EOR method. Considering that more of Iranian oil fields are in their second half-life and candidate for an EOR technique in the near future, the notion of use for a such software is inevitable.

Progress:

In principle, determination of a reliable recovery factor is the target. The software development phases are a few.  The first phase is finished and work is in progress onto the other phases.
